Unitag, the story of seven students who have an idea.
Unitag Toulouse is a young startup created in 2011. 7 students decided to embark on the world of entrepreneurship with the idea to democratise the use of QR Codes.
The two main carriers of the project, Alexis Laporte and Benoît Reulier tell us more about it.
What is the Unitag concept?
The idea of the QR Code marketing tool design and graphics came to us when we were students. We then discovered the potential of this technology, which allowed to add digital information in the paper or display any other medium. Our goal through the creation of Unitag and its generator was already making the QR Code attractive in order to attract a wide audience ready to test our solutions. We quickly achieved this through our innovative generator. Today we focus on the qualitative aspect of its use by offering our customers with turnkey solutions to develop communication campaigns using QR Codes. We are also trying to adopt an educative speech technology to promote development and simplify understanding.
And where are you now and what are your future plans?
On the first anniversary of the company we have already over 300 customers, including many large accounts like France 3, Sephora or Volvo. In addition, more than 1/3 of our customers are abroad. This observation leads us today develop our international strategy, always respecting our idea of democratising the use of QR Code. Our next project will be the release of new features where users will be able to easily and quickly create a web page format adapted to Smartphones. This will allow us to meet future needs our customers' mobile communication.
